Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal data, including your rights under UK/EU GDPR and US state privacy law.

Last updated: August 14, 2026

1. Who We Are

This policy is issued by Akazuki Works UK Ltd, trading as Otaku Nest ("we", "us", "our"), registered in England and Wales, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. Registered office: to be added. You can reach us at support@otakunest.moe.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Order and account data. Name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number, and order history when you place an order or create an account.
  • Payment data. Handled directly by our payment processor; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
  • Communications. Messages you send to support, and your marketing preferences.
  • Device and usage data. IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar technical data collected automatically via cookies and analytics when you browse the Site.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to:

  • Process and fulfil orders, including shipping, customs paperwork, and payment processing;
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
  • Send order and shipping updates, and — only with your consent — marketing emails;
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations; and
  • Analyze and improve the Site's performance and content.

5. Who We Share Data With

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, to run the Site and fulfil orders:

  • E-commerce platform and payment processing providers;
  • Shipping carriers and customs authorities, for delivery and import clearance;
  • Email/SMS providers, for order updates and — with consent — marketing;
  • Analytics providers, to understand Site usage; and
  • Professional advisers or authorities, where required by law.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising purposes.

6. International Transfers

Some service providers process data outside the UK/EU, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under UK/EU data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data Retention

We retain order and account data for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes above, including statutory tax and accounting retention periods, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.

8. Your Rights — UK and EU Residents

Under UK and EU GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Request erasure of your data, subject to legal retention obligations;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Receive your data in a portable format; and
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing before withdrawal.

To exercise these rights, contact support@otakunest.moe. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or your local EU data protection authority.

9. Your Rights — US Residents

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal data we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate data, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data — we do not sell or share personal data as those terms are defined by California law. Residents of other US states with comparable privacy laws have equivalent rights. Submit requests to support@otakunest.moe; we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for the Site to function (e.g. cart and checkout), and — only with your consent where required by law — analytics and marketing cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout from working.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Data Security

We use technical and organizational measures, including encrypted checkout, to protect personal data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to us.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect once posted to this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
